GLYCOPROTEIN-B OF BOVINE HERPESVIRUS-4 IS A MAJOR COMPONENT OF THE VIRION, UNLIKE THAT OF 2 OTHER GAMMA-HERPESVIRUSES, EPSTEIN-BARR-VIRUS AND MURINE GAMMA-HERPESVIRUS-68

This study reports that in bovine herpesvirus 4, glycoprotein B (gB) i
s a heterodimer and a major component of the virion, unlike gBs of Eps
tein-Barr virus (gp110) and murine gammaherpesvirus 68, two other gamm
a-herpesviruses. These are new characteristics with regard to the gene
ral features of gB in the Gammaherpes-virinae subfamily.
