EXTENSION AND EVALUATION OF THE CHAIN-OF-ROTATOR GROUP-CONTRIBUTION EQUATION OF STATE FOR PREDICTION OF THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES OF POLAR AND NONPOLAR COMPOUNDS
Mh. Shariat et al., EXTENSION AND EVALUATION OF THE CHAIN-OF-ROTATOR GROUP-CONTRIBUTION EQUATION OF STATE FOR PREDICTION OF THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES OF POLAR AND NONPOLAR COMPOUNDS, Fluid phase equilibria, 85, 1993, pp. 19-40
In this paper, the parameters for the chain-of-rotator group contribut
ion (CORGC) equation of state, which were recently reported by Pults e
t al. (Pults, J.D., Greenkorn, R.A. and Chao, K.C., 1989. Chem. Eng. S
ci., 44 (11): 2553 2564), have been revised. In addition, the ability
of this equation to predict PVT properties of polar compounds and refr
igerants is evaluated. For this reason parameters of the CORGC equatio
n of state for these kinds of groups were obtained. Its ability to han
dle vapour-liquid equilibria calculations was also tested. The interac
tion parameters for unlike pairs of groups have also been determined.
Comparisons between the predicted results and the experimental data fo
r several pure fluids and their mixtures are presented. The accuracy a
nd capability of CORGC with these new sets of parameters are also comp
ared with other widely used equations of state.
