We report a series of intraoperative complications of laparoscopic cho
lecystectomy. Three cases are presented in which subcutaneous emphysem
a associated with pneumomediastinum, pneumoscrotum, and pneumothorax w
ith pneumomediastinum and ocular emphysema, respectively, developed in
traoperatively. These events resulted in no major morbidity to these p
atients. Use of N2O and monitoring of airway and intra-abdominal press
ures are discussed.
