MULTIPLE CYSTS IN THE ENTIRE PANCREAS IN A CASE OF CYSTIC ADENOCARCINOMA OF THE PANCREAS

A case of multiple 'cysts' coexisting with cystic adenocarcinoma in th e pancreas is presented. The cysts were lined by epithelium consisting of either cuboidal and flat cells or mucinous cells, which formed a p apillary pattern; the former cells were more frequent and the latter w ere considered to be hyperplasia. The pathological findings for the di ffuse multiple cysts suggested cystic disease caused by ductal stenosi s, while the mucinous cells may have been related to the malignant tum our.
