Abstract
A series of cluster anions C(n)H-, C(n)F- and CnF3- with linear chain configuration were generated on a home-made apparatus by laser ablatio n. The stabilities of these anions depend strongly on the parity of th e number of the carbon atoms and can be understand by analysis of thei r bonding structures.
