Ab. Gilman et al., CHARACTERISTICS OF POLYMERIZATION OF POLYFLUORINATED OXYGEN-CONTAINING AROMATIC-COMPOUNDS IN PLASMA, High energy chemistry, 26(6), 1992, pp. 438-442
The characteristics of the polymerization in plasma of polyfluorinated
aromatic compounds containing oxygen in the groups -OCH3, -OCF2H, -OC
F3, -OCH2(CF2)2H, and [GRAPHICS] were investigated. It was established
that the main structural feature of the polymers produced from oxygen
-containing fluoroaromatic compounds in a glow discharge plasma is the
significant content of carboxyl groups. The presence of hydrogen atom
s in the substituent R for compounds of the ArOR type leads to an incr
ease in the polymerization rate if the substituent is short. Just as f
or compounds that do not contain oxygen, the reactivity of oxygen-cont
aining fluoro-substituted aliphatic compounds in plasma chemical polym
erization is lower than that of the analogous aromatic compounds.
