Abstract
The title compound has been prepared by the reaction of MeSiNPPh3 with WNCl3 and WO2Cl2, respectively, in acetonitrile, forming colourless c rystals, which were characterized by IR spectroscopy and by an X-ray s tructure determination. Space group P2(1)/n, Z = 4, 4424 observed uniq ue reflections, R = 0.045. Lattice dimensions at 20-degrees-C: a = 120 6.5(2), b = 2225.3(2), c = 2421.0(3) pm, 8 = 101.09(1)-degrees. In the dication [W(NPPh3)4]2+ the tungsten atom is surrounded in a tetrahedr al fashion by the four nitrogen atoms of the phosphoraneiminato ligand s. The bond lengths WN and PN correspond with double bonds.
