Excited state lifetimes and energy transfer processes were studied by
means of low temperature fluorescence hole burning spectroscopy on per
ipheral (LHC) and core antenna chlorophyll-protein complexes of photos
ystem 2 of pea (Pisum sativum L.) prepared by gel electrophoresis. The
obtained holewidths and their temperature dependences correspond to e
nergy transfer rates 3.8-3.9 ps for LHC and 4.6-5.0 ps for core antenn
a, respectively.
