Observations in the 21 cm line of neutral hydrogen made with the Areci
bo- and the Westerbork radio telescopes are presented of a sample of b
inary spiral galaxies. Completed with optical information, these obser
vations are used to determine the spatial orientation of the spin-vect
ors of the galaxies and to estimate their systemic- and rotation veloc
ities. These data are used in an accompanying paper to study the angul
ar momentum properties of binary spiral galaxies in the context of gal
axy formation.
