SPACE-CHARGE NEUTRALIZATION LENS AND ITS APPLICATION

The space-charge neutralization lens (S-C neutralization lens) is inve stigated from the theoretical point of view. The working parameters an d the focal length formulas of the lens are given. According to this a rticle, a S-C neutralization lens has been designed and used as a focu sing and transmission unit in the intense beam facility at the Institu te of Nuclear Research of Lanzhou University. The experiments show tha t it has an excellent operating characteristic for focusing intense be ams and adjusting optical-path matching.
