Sl. Perkins et al., REFERENCE INTERVALS FOR 21 CLINICAL-CHEMISTRY ANALYTES IN ARTERIAL AND VENOUS UMBILICAL-CORD BLOOD, Clinical chemistry, 39(6), 1993, pp. 1041-1044
Reference intervals were determined for 21 clinical chemistry analytes
in umbilical cord arterial and venous blood from healthy term infants
. Nonparametric analysis (rank number) was used to determine the centr
al 95% reference interval. No significant differences were observed be
tween male and female infants. Reference intervals for glucose, urea,
creatinine, urate, phosphate, calcium, albumin, total protein, cholest
erol, triglycerides, alkaline phosphatase, alanine aminotransferase, a
spartate aminotransferase, creatine kinase, lactate dehydrogenase, gam
ma-glutamyltransferase, and magnesium all were significantly different
from adult values.
