Abstract
Some 27 h of high-speed photometric monitoring of the sdB + star PB 87 83 has revealed it to be a rapidly pulsating star of the EC 14026 clas s. Six periodicities in the range 120 to 135 s have been tentatively i dentified in the light curve. The pulsation amplitudes of all the mode s are small, mostly below 5 mmag. Spectrograms show the star to be com posite, and UBVRIJHK photometry indicates that the companion to the su bdwarf is of early-F spectral type.
