Abstract
A 17-year-old girl was admitted to hospital with dengue fever. On the ninth day of fever she developed haemoptysis and chest X-ray changes c onsistent with haemorrhage in her lungs. Thrombocytopaenia and mild co agulopathy were the most likely cause of this unusual haemoptysis in t his patient. Investigations excluded other causes for the haemoptysis.
