Av. Levanov et al., INFLUENCE OF DIFFERENT ANTIMICROBIAL PREPARATIONS ON NORMAL INTESTINAL MICROFLORA IN PATIENTS WITH GENERALIZED PERITONITIS, Zurnal mikrobiologii, epidemiologii i immunobiologii, (2), 1993, pp. 32-38
These investigations revealed that the treatment of patients with gene
ralized peritonitis with ampiox, gentamicin and metronidazole, as well
as with cephalosporins and metronidazole, led to the aggravation of d
ysbiotic disturbances in normal intestinal microflora, observed in the
se patients before treatment. Cyprofloxacin had a selective decontamin
ating effect on the intestine, which facilitated the decrease of suppu
ration in postoperative wounds.
