Abstract
The complexation of sodium tetraphenylborate by poly(2-methoxy-2-oxo- 1,3,2-dioxaphospholane) and by poly(2-methoxy-2-oxo- 1,3,2-dioxaphosph orinane) in methanol solutions was studied using a previously derived relationship between solution composition and the width of a Na-23 NMR signal. The results indicate that the equilibrium constants of comple xation of sodium cations by both phosphoric-ester polymers are of the same order of magnitude as the corresponding equilibrium constants of complexation of sodium cations by poly(oxyethylene).
