Abstract
X-Ray structure analysis of the native sesquiterpenic lactone arctolid e (I) was performed. The results gave evidence that the relative confi guration of the hydroxy group at C(3) in the initially suggested arcto lide formula (II) has to be corrected to beta. Related to this modific ation. formulas of some other native lactones and derivatives which ha d been correlated with arctolide before were also corrected.
