Abstract
Nuclear photon scattering consists of coherent and incoherent componen ts. Here the connection between the coherent scattering amplitude and the total photonuclear absorption cross section is emphasized and the influence of form factors and interfering multipoles is discussed. Inc oherent scattering is described and the problems that it introduces ar e pointed out.
