Abstract
The total photonuclear absorption cross sections above the pion thresh old are discussed and compared with the cross section for the proton. The multipole decomposition of the nucleon's cross section for single meson production is discussed and integrated to 1210 MeV. Finally, sev eral sum rules that may have application in this energy region are pre sented.
