Abstract
This article deals with the calculation of the irradiance produced by an optical system made up of a lens and a nonpunctual optical source w ith generalized Lambertian profile (cos'' theta). This calculus can be applied to predict the size and power distribution of the irradiated area in point-to-point and quasidiffuse channels. Theoretical results are in good agreement with experimental measurements.
