pH-Metering and magnetic double fraction are used to determine the mol
ar constant of magnetic double refraction of dysprosium monotartrate D
yH2L+ (H4L is tartaric acid). A molecular mechanics technique (Dashevs
kii-Plyamovaryl model) was used to model the structure of the ligand a
nd hydrate surroundings of dysprosium(III) in DyH2L+. Theoretical mola
r constants of magnetic double refraction calculated from the molecula
r mechanics data (CONKERR program) were compared with the experimental
values; the most probable models of the surroundings of the dysprosiu
m(III) are established.
