A. Kowalczyk et al., MAGNETIC STUDIES OF ND2-XYXFE14B AND ND2-XYXFE13CUB COMPOUNDS, Journal of magnetism and magnetic materials, 123(3), 1993, pp. 299-303
Structural and magnetic properties of Nd2-xYxFe14-yCuyB compounds with
x = 0, 0.5, 1.5, 2 and y = 0 and 1 have been studied by X-ray diffrac
tion, ac initial susceptibility and magnetic measurements. The magneti
zation has been measured at 4.2 K in fields of 140 kOe. The compounds
crystallize in a tetragonal P4(2)/mnm-type structure. Substitution of
Y for Nd results in decreases in saturation magnetization, anisotropy
field, Curie temperature and spin reorientation temperature. The chang
es in spin reorientation temperatures with increasing Y concentrations
are discussed in the combined crystal field-exchange field model. Bas
ed on these measurements, the temperature composition diagrams of spin
arrangements appearing in Nd2-xYxFe14B and Nd2-xYxFe13CuB systems hav
e been established.
