Abstract
We construct a two-dimensional field theory with gauge symmetry based on quadratically nonlinear extension of Lie algebras. The case of Lore ntz-covariant quadratic extension of the Poincare algebra turns out to give the Yang-Mills-like formulation of R2 gravity with dynamical tor sion.
