Abstract
Block copolymers of polymethylphenylsilane (PMPS) and polystyrene (PS) have been successfully prepared by the condensation of alpha,omega-di chloro-polymethylphenylsilane with polystyryl-lithium. These new mater ials have been characterized by UV spectroscopy, Si-29-NMR, and size e xclusion chromatography. These block copolymers show a good emulsifyin g activity to compatibilize blends of the two homopolymers (PMPS and P S).
