Abstract
A review is presented of the application of miniplates in maxillofacia l surgery, with an emphasis on maxillofacial trauma. The advantages ar e highlighted, particularly in relation to functional considerations, including jaw function, weight loss, and pulmonary function. Miniplate s are considered to be the best treatment for patients with maxillofac ial fractures.
