In this paper the results of magnetization measurements of Nd 2-x CexC
uO4-y single crystals for magnetic field oriented parallel or perpendi
cular to c-axis direction are presented. Strong anisotropy of magnetiz
ation and critical currents was observed. From magnetization hysteresi
s loops the dependence of the critical current (Jc) on the magnetic fi
eld (H) was evaluated using the Bean formula. For H parallel-to c (Jc(
perpendicular-to c)) clear Jc(H) exponential relations are observed. F
or H perpendicular-to c (Jc(parallel-to c)) values of the Jc are small
er and depend more weakly on the magnetic field. Then anisotropy of th
e critical current at low field (congruent-to 2 kOe) is Jc(perpendicul
ar-to c)/Jc(parallel-to c) congruent-to 45 and decreases to congruent-
to 4 at H = 10 kOe.
