Abstract
Two patients presenting with dysphagia due to cricopharyngeal muscle d ysfunction developed limb weakness 2 to 3 years later. Cricopharyngeal and limb muscle biopsies demonstrated changes typical of inclusion bo dy myositis (IBM). Both patients improved following cricopharyngeal my otomy. IBM should be considered in patients presenting with dysphagia.
