Abstract
The measurement of the neutral temperature axial profile of an oxygen negative glow is presented. It uses a comparison between synthesised a nd experimental low-resolution spectra of the first negative system of nitrogen, present as an impurity in the gas. The temperature is shown to reach 1100 K near the cathode for the highest values of discharge pressure and current.
