SE-77 NMR OF C3SE5 METAL-COMPLEXES (C3SE5(2-) = 1,3-DISELENOLE-2-SELONE-4,5-DISELENOLATE)

Se-77 NMR spectra of Na2C3Se5 and [M(C3Se5)2]n- complexes (C3Se52- = 1 ,3-diselenole-2-selone-4,5-diselenolate; n=1, M=Au(III); n=2, M-Zn(II) , Cd(II), Ni(II), Pd(II) and Pt(II)) as well as those of Na2C3Se5 and C3Se5[C(O)Ph]2 were measured. Chemical shifts of the Se-77 nuclei dire ctly bound with the metal ions are greatly affected by them; Se nuclei of the Ni(II), Pd(II), Pt(II) and Au(III) complexes are more deshield ed than those of the Na(I), Zn(II) and Cd(II) Complexes. Se-77-Se-77 a nd Se-77-Pt-195 spin-spin coupling constants were also measured and di scussed.
