Abstract
Since 1979 in numerous epidemiological studies with different design a nd conflicting results the possibility of a relationship between cance r and exposure to magnetic fields was investigated. By combined evalua tion of 39 studies it can be stated that the time dependence of the re sults seems to support the hypothesis that no risk should be expected or that it is at least lower than presently assumed.
