The vertex function of the kaon-nucleon-hyperon is calculated in the f
ramework of the Skyrme model for the off-shell region of the kaon. The
axial charge transition radius is deduced from the vertex function an
d compared to the calculations of other models. It turns out that the
axial properties of the hyperon in the Skyrme model are not very satis
factory as in the case of the nucleon. We discuss the possibilities of
remedy by alluding to the presence of the Casimir effect.
