H-band imaging of the central region of the Local Group galaxy M33 rev
eals a bulge with effective radius 0.5 kpc. The brightest bulge stars
are resolved. After subtraction of disk contamination, we conclude tha
t the brightest M33 bulge stars are substantially brighter than the br
ightest stars found in the Milky Way bulge. This fact suggests that th
e star formation histories of all bulges are not the same; specificall
y, M33's bulge underwent a star formation episode less than 1 Gyr ago.
