Abstract
At low light levels it is possible to obtain an estimation of the auto correlation function from the measurement of the photocount probabilit y density. This is a fast easy-to-perform method, even though the SNR obtained is smaller than that obtained from a direct measurement of th e autocorrelation function. Experimental measurements have been used t o check the theoretical predictions.
