Abstract
Results are presented from comprehensive studies on the effect of irri gation on soil fertility by comparing the properties of adjacent unirr igated and irrigated areas. Examined is the effect of ten years of irr igation on the hydrophysical properties, granulometry, content of wate r-soluble salts, humus, adsorbed bases, and mobile potassium and phosp horus, mineralogy, microorganism population, and total soil toxicity.
