Abstract
The concentrations of heavy metals Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd, and Pb were determined in agricultural and background soils in an area of irrigated agriculture in Azerbaijan. Correlations between the concent rations of heavy metal and persistent organochlorine pesticides (benzi ne hexachloride, DDT, and its metabolites DDE and DDD, and the DDE/DDT ratio) were investigated.
