Jj. Morrell et al., TREATABILITY OF HEM-FIR AND DOUGLAS-FIR LUMBER IN RELATION TO STORAGETIME AFTER KILN-DRYING, Forest products journal, 43(6), 1993, pp. 35-37
The effect of storage after kiln-drying on the success of treatment wi
th chromated copper arsenate (full-cell process) was investigated on l
umber of Douglas-fir, mountain hemlock, and five species of hem-fir. T
reatment of some species appeared to improve slightly after 1 month of
storage, but the differences declined with additional storage. The re
sults suggest that storage as long as 6 months after drying does not a
dversely affect subsequent preservative treatment.
