Abstract
A design procedure for two types of Fresnel-zone plate antennas is pre sented: viz. antennas with absorbing/transparent zones and phase-corre cting zones. Design objectives axe the optimization of the gain of the lens of the antenna and the side-lobe envelope of its radiation patte rn. The design rules are derived from numerical simulations.
