Abstract
Prolonged application of increasing amounts of mineral fertilizer toge ther with manure increased the total humous content of a Typical Chern ozem in the northern Forest Steppe of the Ukraine. There was a decreas e in the optical densities of ten various humic acid fractions. Data o n changes in crop productivity with increasing levels of fertilization are presented.
