Abstract
Health care providers, purchasers, and insurers try to manage the cost s while maintaining the quality of the care. In the Hospital District of Central Finland we based our plans on the following values: life wo rth living, justice, truth, responsibility, equality, relationship, an d commitment. Most of these values mean responsibility for the patient . At the same time they tell of the ethical basis of our regional netw orking between hospitals and health centres.
