Cac. Sequeira et al., EFFECT OF CROSS-LINKING SULFOCHLORINATED POLYETHYLENE WITH POLYVINYL-CHLORIDE, Molecular crystals and liquid crystals science and technology. Section A, Molecular crystals and liquid crystals, 230, 1993, pp. 683-688
In this paper, the effect of ammonia solution as a crosslinking agent
for sulphochlorinated polyethylene (SCPE) before and after being blend
ed with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is examined, by means of swelling mea
surement determinations. It is seen that the higher the concentration
of NH3 used, the higher the percentage of undissolved SCPE in the samp
le. Moreover the present results prove that an appreciable degree of c
rosslinking in the blend requires the employment of extreme conditions
such as the use of fractionated SCPE and immersion of the blend sampl
e for long periods in the curing media.
