New technologies provide library users with a wide range of options fo
r identifying and retrieving information. While this technology may at
first be a barrier to some users, it frequently becomes the preferred
search method once they become familiar with system commands and sear
ch techniques. This articles discusses methods to help users take the
first step in utilizing information technology. Several programs for h
elping users learn CD-ROM searching that accommodate different learnin
g styles will be highlighted.
