Im. Umanskii et al., QUASI-CLASSICAL DYNAMICS OF A WAVEPACKET PREPARED BY THE RESONANT EXCITATION OF A DIATOMIC MOLECULE, Chemical physics letters, 208(5-6), 1993, pp. 517-522
The quasiclassical analysis of the one-dimensional finite and infinite
motion of spectrally narrow wavepackets is presented. It is shown tha
t the wavepacket dynamics depends crucially on the type of excitation,
below or above the classical transition point. The advantages of the
temporal representation of the packet (PSI(x, t) at x = const. ) over
the coordinate representation (PSI(x, t) at t = const.) are discussed.
