Abstract
Record parameters of a quantron with coaxial pump lamp have been achie ved: weak signal amplification per one passage through the active elem ent (AE) of 6000 and free generation efficiency of 6%. It is shown tha t tight fitting of an AE in the coaxial lamp cavity ensures the maximu m laser efficiency, but does not allow high values of the weak signal amplification coefficient. The amplifier efficiency decrease observed experimentally is associated above all with an increase of the superlu minescence losses. Methods to lower these losses are considered.
