The influence of self-focusing on the backward stimulated Rayleigh-lin
e wing scattering (SRWS) has been investigsted in the quasi-optical ap
proximation. It has been shown that the characteristic longitudinal sp
atial scale of stimulated and the gain increment depend on the paramet
er alpha = 1-P/P(cr), where P is the pump power and P(cr) is the criti
cal power of self-focusing. The correlation function and gain incremen
t of the stimulated scattering radiation in isotropic-phase nematic li
quid crystals have been derived. Peculiarities of SRWS correlation fun
ction behavior near the phase transition are discussed.
