An algorithm is presented for the computation of the saturation charac
teristics of transformer iron cores based on supplied conventional V(r
ms)-I(rms) curves and no-load losses at rated frequency. Laboratory me
asurements on a steel sample were carried out. It is shown that the ir
on core losses are a nonlinear function of the applied voltage. Taking
these losses into account improves the nonlinear flux-current charact
eristic.
