Abstract
The decomposition of ferricyanide to hydrogen cyanide was carried out
in ferricyanide wastes added sulfuric acid. The decomposition reaction
depended on the temperature of the solution. The reaction was first o
rder in the concentration of ferricyanide and two-fifths order in the
concentration of hydrogen ion. The activation energy and frequency fac
tor were 1.01 x 10(5) J mol-1 and 1.57 x 10(12) (dm3 mol-1)0.4 sec-1,
respectively. The calculated values were in good agreement with experi
mental values within a maximum deviation of 10 %.
