Abstract
Two equal parallel cracks on one edge and one unequal parallel crack o n the other edge of a finite width sheet are studied. Formulae for cal culating the stress intensity factors (SIF) of this crack configuratio n are obtained from the results of finite element analysis. The differ ence between the formulae and the finite element results is less than 3%. On this basis, the influence of crack interactions on SIF is discu ssed.
