Abstract
Modifications induced in the infrared optical spectra of BaFI single c rystals by annealing in carbon dioxide atmosphere and by X-irradiating have been studied. The formation of carbonate and dentates at the sit es of I has been observed and discussed. A possible mechanism for the formation of these species is proposed.
