Abstract
A loop generator based on forward rotational STRS in hydrogen is sugge sted and realized. The generator is shown to have a low threshold gain increment and a high conversion efficiency. By Nd laser pumping with 6 J and 70 ns pulses, the efficiency of energy conversion into the fir st Stokes component of about 50% has been obtained, the divergence bei ng 0,25 mrad. The scheme permits to make spatial of pump (lambda(p) = 1.06 mum) and generated (lambda(st) = 1.13 mum) radiation.
