Fn. Gilly et al., GASTRIC-CANCER WITH PERITONEAL CARCINOMATOSIS - DOES HYPERTHERMIA CONSTITUTE A NEW THERAPEUTIC APPROACH, Annales de chirurgie, 47(5), 1993, pp. 414-418
Overall survival rate of gastric adenocarcinoma is poort whatever the
therapeutic is. Main reasons for this poor prognosis are regional fail
ure and local recurrences. Using hyperthermia could be of interest in
peritoneal carcinomatosis during gastric carcinoma: in vitro cytotoxic
effect of hyperthermia is well known. Using hyperthermia in combinati
on with intra peritoneal chemotherapy could improve local control. Pre
liminary results of pilot studies treating peritoneal carcinomatosis w
ith intra peritoneal chemohyperthermia are reported.
