Na. Shelpakova et Af. Ioffa, DECOMPOSITION OF CUMYL HYDROPEROXIDE IN THE PRESENCE OF SULFONATED SILICA IN A FLOW-TYPE SYSTEM, Petroleum chemistry, 33(1), 1993, pp. 39-43
An investigation has been made of the decomposition of cumyl hydropero
xide (CHP) in the presence of silica-based sulphocationites in a flow-
type system. It was established that the given specimens are effective
catalysts for the decomposition of CHP into phenol and acetone. It wa
s shown that, in the course of the process, no irreversible poisoning
of the surface of the catalyst by the products of CHP decomposition oc
curs. Data of chromatographic analysis of the products of CHP decompos
ition in the presence of sulphuric acid and silica-based sulphocationi
tes are given.
